Structural change or Cultural Change

Ever since the present crisis began, we come oyendo to speak of the necessity that in Spain we undertake structural reform that changes our economy towards a model that the brick leaves and impels other productive activities and of services.

We agree in which these measures are completely necessary, like to implant a power plan that separates to us of the swings of the price of petroleum, but it is that sufficient one.

We create sincerely that before undertaking all these measures, we must undertake at the same time as much more necessary difficult other. One is a cultural change. They say that in Spain we have soul of civil servants (necessary on the other hand for the sustainability of the state), that is the best work than we can have.

We put an example:

Several years ago, I mounted a clothes store, and to help to take care of I contracted me a person of indefinite form. With the present crisis I am losing much money, so I decide to close, but a problem considers to me, besides the money that I am losing I must compensate the worker which I contracted.

I do not understand it, that I have created a job, that said that it was very necessary, and now that the things go to me bad, say to me that above I must pay to him still more so that I lose more money. But, if he is going to acquire unemployment and I no, there is dangerous no his money to mount the store.

Conclusion

Like when amount a business is possible it leaves that me bad, noncontract to anybody indefinite one, all weathers just in case. This generates uncertainty labor.

If an employee, when him dismissal, is going to acquire unemployment (by which there am been paying to the Social Security), because I have in addition that to compensate it, are not going to give nothing to me.

These imbalances cause that in Spain, all we want to be used because besides risking less, much more we are protected, but as we can see, to the situation it does not create more than a labor uncertainty, that would not exist if the dismissal were less onerous. The workers would not be more unprotected since if dismisses to them, they would acquire unemployment, but they would obtain that instead of to have manifolds temporary contracts and to be jumping from a company to another one, they would contract to them in a company of indefinite form and, if they work and the company goes well, a greater labor stability.

Another example

Work in a company in Cadiz that is filial of another one in Seville and, due to the crisis, the company contemplates to close soothes of Madrid and it offers to us to transfer to us to work to Seville.

My annoyance is monumental, as I am going to leave the house that I finish buying, and the work of my pair, and the life near my family. I decide not to follow in the company and demand the regional government who looks for another company in my region so that we pruned to work all that we did not want to move.

As it is possible that there are Independent Provinces and Communities with unemployment near 0 and the population of the zones where exists more unemployment not transfers to those regions to work.
