Intesa bank
Intesa bank, result of the fusion in 1998 of the Ambrosian Bank Veneto and Cariplo SpA, are the main Italian bank in terms of stock-market capitalization, volume of assets and deposits of clients. It acquired in 1999 by 10,500 million Euros 70% of the capital of Italian the Commerciale Bank (BCI). The BCI is a bank with presence in Latin America, with but of a 25% of their assets in Brazil and Argentina. Nevertheless 90% of their income come from Italy. It operates in retail bank, wholesale, leasing, factoring, real estate services and management of assets. It has 3,700 branches, the majority in Italy. It contains some branches in Luxembourg, France, Germany, the United States and Islands Cayman.
