Société Générale was founded on 1864 is a French bank of great size that owns 2000 agencies and offices in France and 500 in the rest of the world. In January of 1997, du Nord acquired Credit. In March of 1997, it began to conduct operations in Zagreb, becoming the first French bank that accedes to the Croatian market. At present it has more than 60,000 employees in 75 countries. Their three areas of business are: Retail bank, Bank Privada and Corporate Finance.
